Meeting with American Red Cross

The City of Big Sandy has been talking with Karen Holt, Executive Director of the East Texas Chapter of the American Red Cross about creating a partnership between our City and the Red Cross to identify disaster shelters in our community for our local area. We have also discussed offering shelter training.

Please join us on Friday, June 6th as we take the first steps into this program.

First, we will meet at the Civic Center gym and conduct a shelter survey. Next, we will discuss potential partnership options for other shelters and hosting a shelter training for interested members of the community. Joining Karen will be Sarah Jeter, Community Disaster Program Manager.

We believe this will greatly benefit our community and hope to see y’all there!
