🎤 About the Trainer:
Tom Bosschaert is the founder and director of Except Integrated Sustainability, a consulting and innovation firm pioneering systemic sustainability for over 25 years; and the organization behind ViCo, Vietnam’s first sustainability community. He also chairs the Environment Committee at the World Institute for Change Management and Innovation (WICMI) in Switzerland.
Since founding Except in 1999, Tom has led 700+ projects worldwide, including strategies for Salesforce Park, Heineken, IKEA, and Mitsubishi Estate, and authored the Symbiosis in Development (SiD) framework, showing how societies can thrive when the environment, economy, and community work in harmony.
🛠️ Course insight
Sustainability Essentials is a training that introduces the core concepts of sustainability in everyday, practical terms. What is circularity? What is regeneration? What is ESG? Get familiar with the main terms and frameworks of sustainability, and increase your core vocabulary and knowledge.
In a world where climate change, resource use, and social impact are reshaping the way we live and work, understanding what sustainability really means has never been more important. In this session, participants will explore why sustainability matters not only on a global scale but also for communities and businesses in Vietnam.
Through real-life examples, interactive discussions, and simple frameworks, the course highlights how individual choices and organizational strategies connect to wider social and environmental change.
The training provides a strong foundation for anyone new to the topic, giving members the confidence to understand today’s most pressing challenges and see the opportunities that come with them. It also serves as a gateway into ViCo’s broader programs, equipping participants to take their first meaningful steps in our community and begin contributing to collective solutions.
