JOYFUL JAZZER AT BEAVER

Top Italian alto and soprano sax player, Tommaso Starace makes a welcome return with his trio to North Devon Jazz Club at The Beaver, Appledore on 13th October.

Tommaso has a sparkling, joyful approach to his music, a characteristic identified by Italian critic Vittorio Franchini who wrote that ‘his sax is filled with voices, it sings of gaiety’.

Tommaso has worked with many top UK and Italian jazz musicians and following his love of film and photography he has worked with film composer Dario Marianelli to record music for a TV production of This Little Life and recorded an album interpreting the photographs of Italian photographer Gianni Berengo. To extend his talents, Tommaso has recently recorded Bach’s Cello Suites on soprano saxophone in six UK churches.

At the gig the trio will play the music of Cannonball Adderley and Charlie Parker plus jazz standards and Tommaso will be joined by Martin Jenkins on Hammond organ and Pip Harborn on drums.
