Loose jumping can be a fun way to enhance your horse’s training and development, and it has many benefits:
✅ Jumping without a rider allows/requires a horse to think for itself -
they get to work out the footwork, balance, learn to adjust their stride and gain confidence as they alter things to succeed. This, in my opinion, is the first step in introducing jumping, and is a regular must for young horses.
✅ Loose jumping can add a gymnastic and general variety option to dressage horses, older horses, non-ridden horses and/or horses whose riders do not like jumping.
✅ It can also provide a means of building your horse’s confidence if he’s worried about a particular type of fence or filler.
In all cases, being able to watch your horse jumping allows you to look objectively at their technique, which informs you about how to be in the saddle.
This event will be 1:1, private sessions of approx 30min loose jumping grid/gymnastics at Ayton PRE indoor arena near North Tawton.
Cost: £40 including arena and fence hire.
