An Invitation to the 40-Day Daniel Fast
Feed the Spirit. Fast the Flesh.
"Is there more to my spiritual life than what I am currently experiencing?"
If you’ve been asking that question, we invite you to join us on a journey of consecration and clarity. Starting this Lenten season, we are embarking on a 40-Day Daniel Fast, inspired by the Prophet Daniel’s resolve to honor God with his body and soul amidst the pressures of Babylon.
This isn’t just a change in diet; it’s a spiritual reset. For 40 days, we will set aside "royal delicacies"—the processed foods, sugars, and distractions that often dull our spiritual senses—and return to the simple, life-giving bounty of God’s earth.
Why Join the Journey?
• Spiritual Clarity: Quiet the noise of the world to hear the whisper of God.
• Physical Renewal: Honor your body as a temple of the Holy Spirit.
• A Shared Resolve: Experience the power of a community seeking God’s face together.
Day 1: The Resolution of the Heart
Theme: Setting the Foundation of Faith
Welcome to Day 1 of your 40-day journey. Today is not about a change in diet; it is about a change in direction. Before Daniel ever changed what was on his plate, he made a decision in his soul.
In the courts of Babylon, Daniel was surrounded by pressure to conform—to eat the king’s food and adopt the world's ways. But Daniel knew that to fulfill God's purpose, he had to remain "set apart." By choosing the Daniel Fast, you are telling the world (and your own flesh) that your soul is fed by the Word of God, not just the bread of the earth.
Bible Verses:
> * Daniel 1:8 (NIV): "But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way."
> * Romans 12:2 (NIV): "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind."
> * Psalm 119:10 (NIV): "I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands."
Today's Prayer: "Lord, today I resolve in my heart to seek You above all else. As I change what I eat, change how I think. Let this fast be a sweet offering to You. Amen."
Day 1 Menu: "The Seed of Intent"
For the first day, we focus on Pulse (the biblical word for beans, grains, and seeds) to provide lasting energy and fiber as your body begins its detox.
