The Good Life

As spring approaches and we look out of the window at the garden, imagining lazy summer days surrounded by begonias, the buzz of a bumble bees and the distant hum of a lawn mower some have other ideas. Tom and Barbara Good for example. They imagine being surrounded by sacks of potatoes, the rumble of a rotavator and the hum of 4 tons of manure. Join Tom and Barbara and their long-suffering neighbours, Margo and Jerry for evenings of peapod Burgundy and poppy seed cake with the predictable results. The Good Life has now been translated for the stage by Jeremy Sams, who has based his play on the John Esmonde and Bob Larbey TV show and reunites the well-loved characters (not forgetting Geraldine the goat) as they get themselves into and out of scrapes – some old, some new, all hilarious.
