Fall Equinox Music & Mindfulness Gathering

Join Lehigh Valley master artist Nora Nohraku Suggs for a morning of music, meditation traditions and folklore from Japan.

Sustained by music from the ethereal Shakuhachi bamboo flute, attendees will enjoy a 45-minute, candlelit sound experience with seasonal readings, Zen parables, and lore from Japan's ancient, supernatural storytelling tradition woven throughout.

Themes of preparation for the lengthening nights, the busyness of the coming Fall and Winter, and appreciating beauty in the dying.

After the meditation there will be an optional 15-minute workshop to try playing Nora's sample student shakuhachi flutes, and to learn more about this musical tradition and instrument.

Attendees are asked to bring pillows, mats, blankets and other supportive items if they wish to experience the event on the floor. Chairs are provided.
