Flutist Brandon Patrick George & Pianist Leah Claiborne
🎶Grammy Award-winning flutist Brandon Patrick George joins pianist Leah Claiborne in a concert highlighting new and newly discovered classical works by Black classical composers.

⭐Praised as “elegant” by The New York Times, a “virtuoso” by The Washington Post, and as a “knockout musician with a gorgeous sound” by The Philadelphia Inquirer, Brandon is the flutist of Imani Winds and has appeared as a soloist with the Atlanta, Baltimore, and Albany symphonies, American Composers Orchestra, and the Orchestra of St. Luke’s. In September 2023, Brandon's latest album, Twofold, was released on In a Circle Records. A champion of diversity in classical music, Brandon created his latest commissioning initiative, BPG: The Community Concerto Project, and in June 2024, the Albany Symphony presented BPG: The Community Concerto Project in a new concerto performed by Brandon and the Albany High School Choir composed by Michael Gilbertson.

Brandon has served on the faculty of the Curtis Institute of Music since 2021 and was appointed to the flute faculty at the Mannes School of Music in January 2025.

🎹Leah Claiborne, D.M.A. promotes diversity in the arts by championing piano music by Black composers in her performances, research, and teaching. Claiborne serves as Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for the Frances Clark Center and as the co-chair of the DEI track for the National Conference of Keyboard Pedagogy. She is the founder of Ebony Music Inc, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting Black classical pianists and piano music by Black composers. Dr. Claiborne received early promotion with tenure at the University of the District of Columbia, where she serves as coordinator of keyboard studies and teaches History of African American Music. Leah is a Yamaha Artist.
