Rain Garden Workshop

The Environmental Advisory Council is sponsoring a how-to workshop on designing and installing a rain garden on your property. Presented by Darby Creek Valley Assocation Board Member Jamie Anderson and SSteven Lockard, Upper Darby Rain Gardens Co-Coordinator.

If you wish, bring photos of a site on your property where you would like to build a rain garden.

What is a rain garden?
Rain gardens are specially constructed flower beds that collect water from a downspout, driveway or other hard surface. Filled with beautiful native plants and shrubs, rain gardens filter out road salt and other pollutants and slow the flow of stormwater into streams and rivers. they rpovide food and shelter for insects (including pollinators), birds and other animals.
