BACKGROUND:
A scientific identification building known as The Foundation, lies within the city limits around Picasso Lake. While what is held in this top clearance government building remains a mystery to those in the area we will allow you to refer to them as anomalies. The local towns people has issued numerous complaints to town hall covering the following matters: strobe lights at random times throughout the night, constant evacuation trainings, alarms, screaming and what few believe to be gunshots at all times of the day. The local government has continued to allow The Foundation to continue their practices so the citizens have decided to take things into their own hands.
The Foundation has issued the following release to be front page on the local paper:
“The Foundation is issuing a warning to all those around the Picasso Lake area. Continued trespassing will result in decisive action, while we understand your frustration with the constant evacuation training we would like to inform you it is for your best interest in mind. After receiving numerous complaints from town hall we have elected to lower the number of times throughout the year from once a month to once a quarter. We hope you are willing to come to a mutual understanding and realize that as tedious it may seem it is extremely vital. A few of the contaminants within the lab may be highly volatile.”

RULES:
We are all here to have fun, but safety is the number one priority. Airsoft is a game that requires honor and maturity. PLEASE READ AND UNDERSTAND THE RULES, THEY ARE PUT IN PLACE TO PROTECT EVERYONE AND MAKE SURE EVERYTHING GOES AS SMOOTH AS POSSIBLE. YOU WILL NOT HAVE A GOOD TIME IF YOU BREAK OUR RULES!
All players must sign the Picasso Lake Airsoft Liability Waiver at registration. Players under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian sign their waiver. Once registration is complete you will receive a wristband.
Once registration is complete, you will be able to chrono your replicas. All players must chrono before stepping onto the field. All replicas must meet the requirements listed in the rules.
Everyone is required to have an approved barrel cover on their replica barrel at all times unless on the field, in the chrono area, or otherwise instructed by event/field staff. (Colored zip ties will be placed on your replica to show you passed chrono. If you are using HPA you must have a separate-colored zip tie on your regulator)
All players must attend a safety briefing prior to stepping onto the field. If you miss the safety brief, you will be briefed by a referee at their availability.
AGE RESTRICTIONS:
We allow participants as young as 13 at our events. It is recommended that players under the age of 16 have a parent or guardian stay on site for the duration of the event. (Again, Any player under the age of 18 MUST have a waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian)
GENERAL RULES:
Whenever in doubt about how to act or behave in any situation not specifically mentioned within this rule set, always use your best judgment to keep within the spirit of the event. Follow the direction of referees and game admins at all times.
- Treat all people with respect. Participants found cheating or disrespecting the staff and/or other participants may be ejected from the event without refund.
- Participants who attempt to steal, cause bodily harm, or break any other laws will be referred to local law enforcement.
- Do not bring any real weapons into the play area or staging area.
- Do not move, modify, or otherwise destroy barricades or field structures.
- Do not blind fire, you must be able to see where your BBs are going. Do not shoot directly through, at a point blank range, any cracks that you cannot fit your fist through.
LOST AND FOUND:
If you come across any items that were obviously dropped by another participant, please pick it up and turn it in to event staff so it may be returned to its rightful owner.
EMERGENCY SITUATIONS:
If you or another player loses their eye protection while on field/in the middle of play you will need to verbally communicate by yelling BLIND MAN. Do your best to shield the player and assist getting their eye protection back on. DO NOT SHOOT IN THE VICINITY OF A BLIND MAN CALL.
If you or another player is seriously injured and may require medical attention, or a fire or other emergency, you will communicate verbally (and if possible over radio) the phrase REAL WORLD with an approximate location. When REAL WORLD is yelled everyone must stop where you are, pull out your magazine, and install your barrel cover. Do not move until a game admin gives the all clear. Please do your best to visually point toward the emergency situation. Game will resume when the event/field staff call GAME ON.
EQUIPMENT:
Mandatory:
Airsoft replica, face protection/goggles (Eye protection needs to meet ANSI Z87.1-1989 standards and must fully cover your eye sockets from all angles of impact.), barrel cover, red dead rag, training tourniquet/ace bandage/white cloth for medic revive, water on person, and camouflage to match team colors.
Recommended:
Helmet, boots, knee pads, gloves. lower face mesh (required under the age of 18) is recommended, but not mandatory. BUG SPRAY - we are playing outdoors. There will be mosquitos/ticks/chiggers.
Radios:
Radios are not mandatory but are recommended. NO RADIO WARFARE! Players are not to be on staff channels. Do not listen to an enemy team’s radio frequency. (This would be cheating and grounds for ejection. There may be some bleed over on close radio bands, be courtesy and let a ref know.)
BB’s:
BIODEGRADABLE BB'S ONLY! You may use any weight BB for game play after chrono. Chrono will be done with field supplied BBs. Bring an empty mag to chrono. (Metal or Ceramic BBs are NOT permitted to be used. If caught using anything other than approved biodegradable bb's, there will be an automatic ejection from the facility)
HIT RULES:
- If you are hit anywhere on your person or gear you are out. Raise your replica/hand high in the air and yell “HIT”. Proceed to fall to the ground and pull out a red dead rag. (Position your dead rag high on your person in the direction shots are coming from for visibility). Stay in place for a 3 minute bleedout (and hydrate if safe to do so) OR begin walking to respawn.
- Friendly fire counts.
- All hits count except for ricochets.
- (NEW) Gun hits count as a weapon malfunction. When a BB hits your replica, call out loudly “GUN HIt”, this weapon is now unusable until your next respawn or medic revive, either transition to a sidearm or call yourself hit if no sidearm. (We’re testing this rule out as a new dynamic and to help prevent using a replica as cover in a window or while prone. As with anything in Airsoft, this will be dependent on player integrity and honor.
- If your gun is not in your hands (such as slung) it is considered gear and would count for a hit.
- To be revived, a wounded player must remain where hit and another player must simulate dragging the wounded player to a safe area.
- Dead Man Tell No Tales. Which means that if you are shot, you may not communicate with any player in play, that includes on the radio. The only thing you are allowed to do is call for is "MEDIC yes" or “MEDIC no”.
- Airsoft is a game of honor. CALL YOUR OWN HITS. Do not call opposing team players out. If you believe another player is not calling their hits, please inform game staff and they will look into it. Players caught cheating by not calling their hits will get one warning and after that they will be ejected from the game.
MEDIC RULES:
Buddy Medic System – Any player can perform a medic revive
- Players should bring their own training tourniquet/ace bandage/white cloth to wrap around the arm.
- One medic revive with a tourniquet/wrap around the arm of the downed player.
- 3 minute bleed out.
- Can walk back to respawn but CANNOT be medic'd if you start walking.
SAFETY KILLS:
NO BANG BANG RULE If a player enters in close range combat, inside the minimum engagement distance where firing their sniper/DMR/Support Weapons/LMG is against the rules you must retreat to the appropriate minimum engagement distance or transition to a sidearm.
As a courtesy you can ask for SURRENDER when within close quarters to an enemy player with their back to you. Players do not have to accept surrender eliminations. If a player does not respond to your SURRENDER call, aim low and shoot smart.
MELEE KILLS:
Melee weapons are allowed, but must be used in a safe manner and follow below:
- No modified edge weapons. Only soft rubber or foam is permitted.
- Slashing motions only
- No stabbing, kicking, grappling, or other physical contact is necessary or allowed.
- Never go 100% force with a melee weapon
- If melee killed, players MAY NOT yell hit or call out for medic
(This is to preserve stealth for the killing player.)
GRENADE RULES:
Grenades should be cold burning and dedicated, commercially designed for airsoft. Other forms of pyro will be dependent on the fire safety level the day of the event.
Grenades have a “K*ll” radius of 15 feet outdoors. Everyone within 15ft of a grenades point of impact is hit. Only exception to this rule is hard cover that fully covers your body. (A skinny tree is not hard cover. A building wall that completely covers you from the blast is hard cover. Please use common sense when a grenade explodes near you. Players spend a good amount of money for these grenades. If you are questioning if you are hit most likely you probably are. Feel free to ask a staff member if there is debate over a hit.
Smoke:
Cold burning smoke is allowed for use. Other forms of pyro will be dependent on the fire safety level the day of the event.
RESPAWN/DEADZONE:
You may NOT shoot into team respawns. However, you may shoot out of them. If you are hit in your spawn, you do not have to call the hit and can continue firing. Once you leave the respawn (taped area) you are now in play and can be eliminated. This is to discourage spawn trapping. Please do not spawn trap enemy teams, there are no points award and it ruins the spirit of the game.
PLAY AREA:
- Play area is predetermined with a map and marked off with tape or similar sign or designation.
- DO NOT cross into out of bounds areas. If you are unsure, STOP and ask event/field staff.
- DO NOT climb ladders, go on roofs or enter taped off or blocked areas. These are marked for safety.
- DO NOT move cover objects unless instructed to by event/field staff.
- DO NOT leave trash of any kind on or off the field.
- DO NOT bring any unauthorized gear or equipment on the field.
MAPS AND MISSIONS:
Maps and Missions will be provided in an accompanying Warning Order closer to the event
We plan to utilize the west side of the lake (beach and freedom ridge side) for phase 1 and the east side of the lake (maze and trenches side) for phase 2.
Missions will include: capture and defend, search and destroy, hostage rescue, lootable items, story driven puzzle, anomaly containment, high value target elimination, and of course pigs, and more!
