Join the ladies of Rust Belt and friends on June 21st to get bike tips from coach Catherine Neff, session practice obstacles and enjoy group rides. We will meet at the South Lot on Shilling Rd.
According to IMBA, women make up 46% of the mountain bike community- that's a big number, let's make ourselves seen!! Women benefit greatly from coaching with other women, in women exclusive environments. Our ladies only day will include activities for women and girls at all skill levels, but trust us: the odds are that you are better at this than you think you are!
Our coach, Catherine, has been coaching since 2016 and holds multiple certifications through BICP (Bike Instructor Certification Program). She was a Level 2 Instructor Trainer for BICP and has coached alongside Shaums March - the US Olympic Team skills coach. As an instructor, her passion is rooted deeply in helping riders to find confidence, overcome fears, develop a deeper understanding of their riding, and find a love of adventure. Her favorite skills to teach are the fundamentals of body positions because having a strong foundation makes riding much more enjoyable and safer! She has done extensive coursework outside of cycling in education, psychology, and teaching methods. In addition to mountain bike coaching, she also teaches private piano lessons and works in real estate.
