The Zydeco Flow

Step into the rhythm of Louisiana with our brand new, unique 4-week Zydeco dance class series at Ashkenaz! Whether you're brand new to Zydeco or ready to take your skills to the next level, this is the only class in the Bay Area that will guide you through the steps, moves, and styling of this dynamic dance.

Taught by Sarah Travis, Executive Director of Ashkenaz, fiddle player, and a seasoned Zydeco dancer with years of experience dancing in both Louisiana and the Bay Area, these classes offer a fun and welcoming environment to learn the moves, connect with the music, and embrace the joy of Zydeco.

💃 Each Month You'll Learn:

Week 1: Introduction to Zydeco Dance Basics

Week 2: Partnering Basics and Building Confidence

Week 3: Intermediate Moves, Spins, and Styling

Week 4: Advanced Combinations, Transitions, and Polishing Your Zydeco Dance

*We'll even slip in a line dance!*

**Drop-ins Welcome** -- but consider that these classes are progressive each month, we build skills each week based on the previous week's class and the level start over again at the beginning of each month. There will be monthly variations to keep things interesting for our returning dancers!
