The Jazz Syndrome is a modern jazz guitar trio that plays
music from the great American songbook as well as the bop and
hard bop eras. You might even hear us fitting in some renditions
of 80’s underground and 70’s AM radio hits from time to time. We
are musicians from the Oakland art-rock scene who have gotten
together to stretch our jazz wings and soar through the
wonderfully fun compositions by the masters such as Thelonious
Monk, Miles Davis, Wayne Shorter and John Coltrane to name a
few. We like things grooving and jamming but with a finesse that
keeps it all delicately balanced. The musicians in this band may
be steeped in the avant-garde but we use this skill sparingly.
Just enough to hear yourself saying, “oh that’s interesting, that’s
something new”. We are very pleased to be having Rent Romus
on saxophone for our Jupiter gig. And also, a very special guest
vocalist that will close out each set with Halloween B-side treats!
