Grapevine Wine Tasting: Malbec

The next Grapevine Tasting is on March 11, 2026At 7pm. At the last tasting, we delved into CaliforniaChardonnay’s and were surprised to discover thatone of the evening’s favorites cost less than$10/bottle. In December, we had had a similarexperience with Cabernet Sauvignon; one of thefavorites was also inexpensive -- $20/bottle, a great price for Cabernet. Apparently the wine glut in California is producing bargains in both whites and reds.

For our next tasting, we will taste wines from another family of great reds – Malbec. Although Malbec is most associated with the Mendoza vineyards of Argentina, it is, in fact, grown in vineyards around the world (France, Italy, Australia, Chile, USA). Bring a bottle of your favorite or one you would like to try, and discover others as we share our opinions in a blind tasting of this interesting red.

These tastings follow a familiar format. Each person (not each couple) brings a bottle of the featured wine to the tasting. Wine glasses, tableware, bread, cheese and wine scoring sheets are provided by the Club in exchange for a fee of $20 for members and $25 for non-members. Attendees are seated at tables of 5 – 6 people. You are welcome to specify if you wish to sit with friends, and we will try to accommodate your request.

Please remember to bring a bottle of Malbec for each person in your party!
