Calling all grant professionals! Discover a restorative and creativity-sparking break from the world of deadlines, narratives, and budgets at a kokedama workshop. Hosted at Paraiso Plant Studio in Berkeley, this one-hour session introduces you to the traditional Japanese art of crafting elegant moss-ball plant displays, a hands-on activity that blends focus, artistry, and calm.
Guided by houseplant expert and botanical artist Umut Y., you’ll create and take home your own kokedama using a 4-inch plant and all provided materials, you will also receive written care instructions so your moss-ball companion thrives long after the workshop. Think of it as a living reminder to breathe between proposals.
Umut brings years of experience in plant styling and botanical art, making the workshop both skill-building and joyfully accessible, perfect for professionals who spend their days balancing detail-oriented work with big-picture impact. Whether you're new to plant crafting or a seasoned plant enthusiast, this session offers a refreshing shift from screens to soil while building community with fellow grant writers, managers, and fundraisers.
