On LABOR DAY, MONDAY SEPTEMBER 1, we’re planning more than a barbecue. Morgan County and thousands of communities across the country will be standing together, in solidarity with local workers and working families, to continue organizing to stop this attempted Trump Administration takeover!
Join us and help grow a bigger and stronger movement that can win the fight for an America that is more fair, just, equitable, and free for all of us… and not live under the thumb of Trump and his billionaire cronies.
American union members fought—and often sacrificed much—for the rights we all enjoy today: weekends, fair pay, sick leave, lunch breaks, overtime pay, pensions, workman’s comp, and safe working conditions. didn’t just happen; they were won through hard-fought battles by organized labor.
It’s up to us, the people, to STOP THE BILLIONAIRE TAKEOVER as they continue to wage a cruel war on working people. Trump’s administration and the Republican Congress recently passed the largest wealth giveaway in the history of the US. and are converting the government into their private slush fund. Trump and his billionaire administration are pilfering money from critical services that workers and working families rely on — e.g. SNAP food support and healthcare — and redirecting it to the pockets of billionaires and the funding of Trump's private army of ICE agents.
Working people built this nation and we know how to take care of each other. We won’t back down—we will never stop fighting for our families and the rights and freedoms that ensure access to opportunity and a better life for all Americans. The billionaire's time is up. Together we will demand a world that works for all of us.
OUR DEMANDS TO BUILD THE SOCIETY WE ALL DESERVE:
1. Stop the billionaire takeover and rampant corruption of the Trump administration.
2. Protect and defend Medicaid, Social Security, and other programs for working people.
3. Fully fund schools, healthcare and housing for all.
4. Stop the attacks on immigrants, Black, indigenous, trans people, and all our communities.
5. Invest in people not wars.
We will stand along Washington St. sidewalks with protest signs and American flags to be seen and heard by those in passing vehicles. For your safety, please stand back from the roadway at all times, and do not stand in any crosswalk or driveway.
If you have one, please bring a protest sign that speaks to any issue concerning workers. We will have extras on hand. In addition, bring a water bottle, dress for the weather, and reach out if you have any questions. And please spread the word!
