ABOUT THE PLAY
A dark comedy about small-town politics and the meaning of community, nominated for the Tony Award and the Pulitzer Prize, by the author of August, Osage County. Approximate run time 100 minutes, no intermission.
At the weekly meeting of the Big Cherry town council, every member has a personal agenda to advance, a peeve to pet, and an axe to grind—as well as secrets to keep and decisions to make when myth overpowers truth about the town’s history and its future.
When history is a verb, when democracy’s messy, and when great power brings great temptation, who decides what comes next? And how?
