Er du nysgjerrig på kunsten som skapes for våre felles rom - utenfor gallerier og kunstinstitusjoner? Velkommen til en kveld hvor vi setter søkelyset på ny kunst, lagd til skoler, en helseinstitusjon og en brannstasjon! Vi vil snakke om kunsten, om veien frem til ferdigstilt kunstverk og om arbeidet som skjer i kulissene - som kurator, kunstkonsulent og i kunstutvalg.
Denne kvelden har vi invitert Monica Takvam og Helene Førde, som begge har erfaring som kurator og kunstkonsulent for kunst i offentlig rom.
Helene Førde vil snakke om kunstprosjekter på Nysæter ungdomsskole på Stord - hvor noen av verkene allerede er på plass, men andre gjenstår å ferdigstille.
Monica Takvam presenterer tre av en rekke prosjekter hun har jobbet med de siste årene; Oslo universitetssykehus Ny sikkerhetspsykiatri på Ila i Bærum, Brann- og redningsskolen i Troms og nye Fana brannstasjon. Prosjektene er i ulike faser av arbeidet, noe er ferdigstilt og annet er i prosess.
Denne kvelden får du mulighet til å bli kjent med flere nye kunstprosjekter, og til å lære mer om prosessene bak å etablere kunstprosjekter i offentlig rom. Det vil bli servert suppe, og være rom for gode samtaler. Hjertelig velkommen!
HELENE FØRDE er en interdisiplinær kunstner basert i Bergen. Hun arbeider gjennomgående stedssensitivt og undersøkende, med et sterkt engasjement for natur, miljø, forskning og samfunnsutvikling. De siste årene har Førde tatt oppdrag som kunstkonsulent for Fjaler kommune, Stord kommune, Bergen kommune og Vestland fylkeskommune.
MONICA TAKVAM er kunstner, fotograf, kurator og kunstfaglig rådgiver / kunstkonsulent. Hun har mange års erfaring med kuratering av kunst i offentlig rom og har jobbet på flere prosjekter for KORO, på prosjekt for en rekke kommuner som Bergen kommune, Tromsø kommune, Oslo kommune, og for Helse Sør-Øst. Hun er også leder for Kunstgarasjen i Bergen.

Are you curious about art that is created for our common spaces—outside galleries and art institutions? Welcome to an evening where we shine a spotlight on new art, created for schools, a healthcare institution, and a fire station! We will talk about the art itself, the path towards completing the artwork, and the work that goes on behind the scenes—as a curator, art consultant, and in an art selection committee.
For this evening, we have invited Monica Takvam and Helene Førde, who both have experience as curators and art consultants for art in public spaces.
Helene Førde will talk about art projects at Nysæter Secondary School at Stord, where some of the works are already in place, but others remain to be completed.
Monica Takvam will present three of a number of projects she has worked on in recent years: Oslo University Hospital's new secure psychiatric ward at Ila in Bærum, the Fire and Rescue School in Troms, and the new Fana fire station. The projects are at different stages of completion – some are finished and others still in progress.
To sum up, you will have the opportunity to get to know several new art projects and learn more about the processes behind establishing art projects in public spaces. Soup will be served, and there will be room for conversation. Welcome!
HELENE FØRDE is an interdisciplinary artist based in Bergen. Her work is consistently site-sensitive and exploratory, with a strong commitment to nature, the environment, research, and social development. In recent years, Førde has taken on assignments as an art consultant for the municipalities of Fjaler, Stord, and Bergen, as well as for Vestland County.
MONICA TAKVAM is an artist, photographer, curator, and art advisor/consultant. She has many years of experience curating art in public spaces and has worked on several projects for KORO, as well as projects for a number of municipalities, including Bergen, Tromsø, Oslo, and Helse Sør-Øst. She is also the director of Kunstgarasjen in Bergen.
