The exhibition will take shape as a woven environment of paper and words, us and you. Large scale rolls of paper, teared into strips, hanging from the ceiling are transformed into low-tech looms. Words written on the paper invite you to engage in a metaphorical act of weaving, connecting words, transforming them into interwoven narratives.
With the concepts of floating and weaving we are interested in creating a porous, open ended space and dialogue.
Artist bio
We are a group of students of MA Scenography from Norwegian Theatre Academy that through our studies have initiated a long-term exploration we call FLOATING. The members fluctuate in different phases of the project. For the time being FLOATING consists of Silvia Kostolanská, Ingerid Frang, Helena Zaïda and June Yeom.
We are interested in floating as a passive act and weaving as a practice. While floating points to drifting and impermanence, weaving is its active counterpoint: an act of joining, layering, and holding things together, temporarily or permanently.
