This class is a basic, introductory class on handguns, basic firearm safety, uses of a pistol, and shooting fundamentals for our shooting community 55+ years of age. This class is perfect for someone who is looking for a “First Steps” type of course, showing new shooters how to properly (and safely) manipulate a pistol. Those who are just getting back into shooting – this would be a good fit for you as well!

- Handgun Safety
- Fundamentals of shooting
- Handgun Operation
- Refresher dry fire practice with handgun
- Cover basic malfunctions
- Range time with instructions
Required Equipment:
- Your firearm and holster
- Two magazines for semi-auto or one speed loader for revolver
- Ammunition (50 rounds)
- Eye and ear protection
Prerequisites:
- Basic Handgun Knowledge and Shooting Skills
Things To Know:
- Bring government-issued ID
- Must be 21 or older to participate
- Please arrive 15 minutes early for registration and to start on time
- If climbing stairs is an issue please let us know so we can accommodate
- Handgun optional (If you do not own a handgun we will provide one for free.)
- Minimum 50 rounds of ammunition (BYO or Available for purchase at SFTC)
- Eye and ear protection provided free of charge (feel free to bring you own if you prefer)
- Closed toe shoes and no low cut necklines
