Pottery Wheel - "Try It"
Calling all newbies to the pottery wheel!
Ever wonder what it's like to try out the pottery wheel and throw your very own pieces? This is your chance to give it a shot! Join us for a 2-hour adventure where you’ll learn the fundamentals of centering your clay on the wheel and crafting your very own bowl or vessel. No experience required, this class is designed for all skill levels! All pottery will be made using high-quality, microwave and dishwasher safe, stoneware clay.
During the class, the instructor will go over the basics, give you a short demonstration, and answer any questions, as well as come around and offer assistance or suggestions.
All pieces made in class will be ready in 2-3 weeks, after they have dried and been kiln-fired. You can either choose a color for us to glaze your pieces for you, or return to the studio to glaze them yourself during open hours for no additional fee. Either way, you will receive a text message when they are ready for you. All pottery must be picked up within 60 days.
Important Details:
-Wheel throwing is a bit messy (it IS mud!), so we highly recommend not wearing anything you wouldn’t want to get clay on and bringing a hand towel to class. Be ready to get a lil’ messy. Aprons will be provided.
-Feel free to bring your own snacks and drinks. All drinks must have a covered top.
-No opened toe shoes or heals in studio.
-Long hair must be tied back and hand jewelry must be removed.
-Space is limited, only 6 students per session.
-Minimum age is 13 years. All under age 16 must be accompanied by a participating adult.
