Hambledon State School Transition Activity Day

Bentley Park College and Hambledon State School have formed a partnership to ensure the move from Primary into Secondary school feels natural and comfortable and allows students to start their new phase of schooling feeling excited and confident.

On Tuesday 10 June, Year 6 students are invited to attend the Hambledon State School Transition Activity Day at Bentley Park College. This is the first of a series of activities that Hambledon students can attend as part of their transition to Secondary school. Regardless of the Secondary school your child will be attending in 2026, being exposed to the environment and structures of a Secondary school will be a valuable transition experience.

Students will be transported to and from Hambledon State School on the day by buses provided by Bentley Park College. Normal school hours of 9.00 am to 3.00 pm apply and drop offs and pick-ups will be as normal. Students are required to wear their Hambledon State School uniform, including a school hat, and wear shoes with impervious uppers as they will be entering practical classrooms. It is recommended students bring both a water bottle and their own lunch.

During the Transition Activity Day, students will be involved in a wide range of curriculum activities in a number of different learning environments. These activities will be run by our subject area teachers and our Year 7 teachers. Hambledon Year 6 teachers will attend the day with their students.

The transition from Primary to Secondary can be a daunting experience for any child, and many of you will be experiencing mixed emotions as your children complete their Primary school education and prepare to transition to Year 7. Our goal is to support your student transition seamlessly into a Secondary school setting and we look forward to welcoming the Year 6 Hambledon students to their Transition Activity Day.
