This one-day retreat invites you to weave on a frame loom using yarns, twines, and other natural materials, including long-stemmed plants and flowers harvested from the land and gardens at MEC! Participants will enjoy a day of creative exploration and play, all while learning weaving skills, connecting with one another and gathering ideas for future projects. All levels are welcome!
The retreat will be led by Bradie Hansen, weaver, therapist, and writer, who uses weaving in her own practice of processing and metabolizing the things that make life both wonderful and challenging. Every color, texture, and material comes to mean something in weavers' works, making this truly a unique and meaningful creative process. A nourishing lunch and all weaving materials are included.
