About this Event

Blend: On Being Black in Bend Screening & Fundraiser

Join us for a powerful evening of truth-telling, community, and cinematic storytelling with a free screening of Blend: On Being Black in Bend, the debut documentary from filmmaker and cultural strategist Kenneth Adams. The film captures the raw and nuanced experiences of Black life in a city that wasn’t designed with us in mind—through stories of struggle, resistance, joy, and unapologetic existence.

Featured in Blend is Dr. Dalton Miller-Jones—educator, disruptor, thinker, and legacy builder—whose story continues in Kenneth’s next documentary project, My Friend Dalton.

My Friend Dalton is not just a biography—it’s a tribute to a man who’s spent his life challenging others to rise. Whether in academia, community organizing, or quiet one-on-one conversations, Dr. Miller-Jones has always pushed people to expand their thinking, elevate their purpose, and lift as they climb. Told through the eyes of those he’s impacted across the country, this film captures the echoes of a life lived in service of growth, truth, and transformation.
