Divine Service: The Ascension of Our Lord

On Thursday, May 29th, we will gather with our brothers and sisters in Christ at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Rockford (located at 310 E Division St NE) to celebrate Christ’s ascension. A meal will be served at 6:00 pm, followed by the service at 7:00 pm; Pastor Jason Peterson will preside over the service, and Pastor Eric will preach the sermon. We invite you to rejoice in the proclamation of God’s Word, in the sung praise of our combined choirs and in the gift of our Lord’s body and blood as we worship Him together!

Jesus promises to release the power of the Holy Spirit that will sustain the Church as she magnifies the name of Christ, in all wisdom, knowledge & enlightenment. Today, the Church honors Jesus’ ascent into the heavenly realms. In His absence from us, we shall be comforted & sustained by the Spirit of God. In our waiting for Christ’s return, we boldly procliam repentance & the forgiveness of sins to all nations.. (Acts 1:1-11; Ephesians 1:18-23; Luke 24:44-53)
