Sam Astra is the solo project of Seattle-born, Los Angeles-based songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Samuel Ashkenazy. After nearly a decade fronting the West Coast-touring band Foxy Apollo, Sam launched Sam Aar in 2024 to explore his genre-defying blend of funk, rock, R&B, jazz, hip-hop, pop, and blues. In 2025, he released his first singles, Balance and Nowhere, and has performed in Los Angeles, Seattle, and Portland, with more music and shows on the horizon.
