Learn more about the scope, work, and budget of your County government at the first annual County Open House held Sept. 3rd, from 6:00PM-7:30PM in the County Courthouse. Staff from across the county departments will be available to answer questions from the public and showcase upcoming projects and initiatives.
“People connect best when they meet face-to-face and talk as neighbors,” said County Executive Satpal Sidhu. “We are opening the doors and inviting you to learn more about the work we are doing on your behalf.”
Participants will be able to hear about upcoming public works construction projects, review the upcoming county budget, get the latest updates on the new jail and behavioral care facility, deep dive into the capabilities of our property GIS, or compete for prizes in Whatcom County trivia.
Elected officials will also be available to meet with the public and listen to concerns.
“One of our priorities as a County Council has been to foster more community conversations. This Open House is a great opportunity to have those conversations with the people doing the work,” said County Council Chair Kaylee Galloway.
