About the event

Access for All: Free First Fridays at the Whatcom Museum
Join us for free admission, extended hours until 9 pm (FIG until 6 pm), and free programming for all ages!

Welcome local LEGO® Master contestants Brad Bergman and Mike Tarrant to the museum for another building bonanza. For the second year, Brad and Mike will bring bricks, blocks, and all things LEGO® to our May Free Friday. In the evening, we’ll celebrate the accomplishments of our community’s young artists at Children’s Art Walk. Join us for facepainting, performances from the Shoestring Circus, and more!

**Sweet Art Tour of Verdant**

A short and sweet introduction to the French masters for children 1 – 5 with an accompanying caregiver.

**Baby & Toddler Music Classes with Little Sapling Music**

**Two-ply Tour with Curator Jeff Jewell**

Join Photo Archivist and local historian Jeff Jewell to learn about the rise and decline of Bellingham’s waterfront pulp and tissue mills.

**LEGO® Brick Pit**

The LEGO® Brick Pit is a place for LEGO® enthusiasts to dream, craft, and build to their heart’s content.

**Docent Tours of Not the Whole Picture**

Enjoy a docent guided tour of Not the Whole Picture and explore the arc of Garth Amundson and Pierre Gour’s collaborative and personal partnership.

**Procession of the Species Mask Making**

**Beeswax Figures with Whatcom Hills Waldorf School**

**Face Painting with the Fairies of Art and Happiness**

**Bellingham Symphony Orchestra Meet a Musician**

Kids can meet musician Kristi Kilgore and learn about the horn in this fun, kid-friendly performance.

**Shoestring Circus**

Experience gravity defying feats of balance and object manipulation with members of the Shoestring Circus.

Meet local LEGO® Master contestants Brad Bergman and Mike Tarrant before the judging of our Community LEGO® Competition at 6 pm.

**Bellinghome School of Music Teen Jazz Band**

Listen to jazz and R and B classics from our community’s young musicians.

Exhibitions and galleries are open until 9 pm on the first Friday of every month, and the Family Interactive Gallery (FIG) is open until 6 pm.
