Trauma-Sensitive Pastoral Response Seminar

This seminar offers a clear understanding of the impact of abuse within church settings and otherwise on victim survivors, their families and communities including emotional, spiritual, and relational aspects.

Trauma sensitive pastoral care for those impacted is described and tools for responding with compassion, care, and awareness are provided. Participants will be able to walk more confidently and effectively with those impacted on their journey toward healing.

Sue Moreland facilitates the Healing Ministry for the Archdiocese of Seattle. She is a licensed clinical social worker, and experienced psychotherapist who has a keen understanding of the impact of abuse on individuals, families and communities. This ministry serves as a resource for victim survivors and their family and friends, lay ministers, Catholic school staff, clergy, and seminarians, offering education and training in abuse awareness, prevention, and trauma-sensitive pastoral care.
