August CPO Meeting: A Visit to the Bellefonte Art Museum’s Special Exhibition – From Your Backyard to the Cosmos: The Beauty and Science of Astrophotography

For our Thursday August 7 meeting, we will make a field trip to Bellefonte to see a special exhibition on astrophotography at 7:00 pm. PSU astronomer Chris Palma organized the exhibition, and he will join us to show us around and tell us about it. The exhibition shows astrophotos from sources ranging from local backyards to NASA’s most powerful scopes, and it includes photos by CPO members. The exhibition also tells the public about the techniques of the craft.

We have arranged for the museum to be open just for us at our usual meeting time.

Before the museum visit, join CPO friends for some food & drink at nearby Brothers Pizza (and Courthouse Pub), starting at 5:30. Brothers Pizza is at 102 N. Allegheny St. (the corner with E. High St.), across the street and up the block from the museum.
