This is part 2 of our Houston Program for July 2025. We cover two Level 4 UK qualification modules. The course is aimed at veterinary rehabilitation professionals pursuing excellence in canine hydrotherapy treatment using the underwater treadmill. Plus those wishing to find out more about European style canine hydrotherapy techniques.

Your pre-study is provided via Moodle, our online education platform. Practical training takes place at the fantastic K9 Health Centre in Houston where we have a long standing (over sixteen years) association with our training partner Sandra Wilson. She will be pleased to help with advice, travel information or any local queries – k9healthcenter.com
There are only ten places available for these practical days so please register early to avoid disappointment.
This course covers gait assessment and advanced skills in the underwater treadmill. We will cover case selection, advanced handling and problem solving. If you have a complex case load this course will give you the knowledge to adapt techniques to gain the best possible gait and rehabilitation outcomes using the underwater treadmill. Online lectures, all course materials, three attendance days and provision of practice dogs are all included.

Completion of Part 1 – Introduction to Canine Hydrotherapy in Houston is a pre-requisite for attending this course.
Others will be considered but must have relevant qualifications plus experience using an underwater treadmill. Please contact us to find out if this course is suitable for you.

This course is a blended learning course including online study and three attendance days with lectures, observations and hands-on practical training.
We want you to be fully prepared so you can gain the most from your practical training so we have provided a lot of online education material for you. Pre-study and successful completion of revision test/quizzes is required prior to attendance days.
Attendance days
There are three required practical training attendance days at K9 Health Centre, Houston.
Day 1 – practical gait assessment, observations, revision of gait terms and working together in teams.
Days 2 and 3 – you will observe and join in with water treadmill sessions for a variety of dogs and conditions. We will film and review some of these sessions in class.
