Documentary Screening: Mná na bPíob

Followed by Q&A with Louise Mulcahy
A special screening of Mná na bPíob, a powerful and moving feature length documentary by acclaimed musician Louise Mulcahy, exploring the overlooked legacy of women in the tradition of uilleann piping.

Following the screening, Louise will take part in a live Q&A, offering further insight into her research, the women who shaped the tradition, and her own journey as a piper and filmmaker.

Louise Mulcahy hails from a distinguished musical family in County Limerick, Ireland, deeply rooted in the tradition of uilleann piping. Her father, Mick Mulcahy, is a highly respected and influential figure in Irish traditional music, renowned as a skilled accordion player. Growing up surrounded by such musicality has profoundly shaped her artistic identity and her deep understanding of Irish traditional music.
