Monologuewords: Examining the intricacies of monologues with Jenni Munday

A good monologue is hard to write, and hard to perform. During a recent season of performances of 10 monologues presented at the Meat Market theatre space in North Melbourne, 8 performers rehearsed with Jenni, as director, to perform 10 monologues by different playwrights in a season called Metropolis Monologues. This talk/presentation will take one of the monologues and talk about the process of analysing the work for performance using the ideas of Mike Alfreds, a highly regarded English director, and consider elements of the process of “bringing it to life” with the actor. A recording of the performance will be shown at the conclusion of the presentation.
