Unlock Your Child's Love for Reading: A 6-Session Program for Parents
Want to help your child become a confident, independent reader? "Raising Readers" is an interactive program designed to teach parents the latest Science of Reading strategies. Over six engaging sessions, you'll learn effective, research-based techniques for supporting your child’s reading journey. While you learn, your child will participate in activities that use these strategies to strengthen their reading skills.
Each session will focus on one important part of reading development, including:
Introduction Session
Phonemic Awareness (understanding sounds in words)
Phonics (connecting sounds to letters)
Fluency (reading smoothly and quickly)
Vocabulary (learning new words)
Comprehension/Writing (understanding what is read and expressing thoughts with words)
Taught by Donna O'Neill and Lauren Tweedy-Scott, both educators with over 10 years of classroom experience and Master's Degrees in Literacy. This program will give you practical tools for supporting your child's literacy at home. Plus, at the end of the series, you’ll receive a toolkit with resources to continue helping your child grow as a reader.
We encourage you to register in advance to reserve your spot and ensure we can provide the best experience for all families. However, drop-ins are always welcome—please feel free to join us as you are able!
Join us Saturdays from 1-2 PM and lay the foundation for your child’s lifelong love of reading!
