Looking for a fun, meaningful way to help your child get ready for kindergarten? Play with Purpose is a joyful, play-based program designed for children ages 3–5 and their caregivers—because learning happens best when families learn together.
Created by the National Center for Families Learning (NCFL), this evidence-based program supports early development through simple, powerful play strategies you can use every day at home.
Who Can Participate?
Children must be ages 3–5 (and turn three this year)
Caregivers must commit to attending at least 3 of the first 4 sessions
What Does a Session Look Like?
Caregiver Learning Time (First 30 Minutes)
Parents and caregivers meet with trained facilitators to explore new ideas about play, early learning, and child development.
Family Play Time
Caregivers and children reunite to practice what they’ve learned through hands-on, guided play in a warm and supportive group setting.
What’s Included?
Play-based activities that build kindergarten readiness skills
Complimentary light breakfast served by the library before each session
Weekly take-home gifts, including a free book and toy to extend learning at home
Access to the Sparkler app, a fun and easy tool to track your child’s developmental milestones and celebrate progress
Come play, learn, and grow together while enjoying quality family time.
