With 28 years of experience, cpd, study, research and practice in the Health and Fitness Industry I have become a great believer that we need to release the tension in our muscles and other Body tissue (tendons, ligaments and fascia) caused by stress, anxiety, trauma, sport and exercise before we are able to change, build strength and increase the flexibility.
Working/exercising/using muscles when they are already tense, tight and under tension just creates and increases more tension and tightness. Muscles should be balanced in strength and supplety for them to perfom tasks and do the jobs they are meant to do from moving to stabilizing, having tight tense muscles does not necessarily increase the strength or the capacity for them to become strong - but they can look good. I have devised a system of using easy to follow, science backed movements and exercises that release tension first and then increase strength and flexibility. Accessible to everyone - even those with specific needs, this system consists of layers and levels that give you ownership of what and how much you want to do at your pace. Already tried and tested on many of my regular Practioners I am now ready to offer it to the rest of you.
We prepare with focused with breathwork and relaxation which helps us to start releasing held onto anxiety, stress and tension from anywhere and everywhere in our Minds and Body. This prepares and readys us for change and correction as we move into a section of 'Release to Increase' targeting specific muscle groups where more tension is held on to especially jaw, neck and shoulders and then weakness in ankles, knees and hips - although we care and correct the Body as a whole.
We release tension first then increase the strength or flexibility depending on the nature of what we are doing, we do this with variations from Somatic Yoga, Pilates and Hatha Yoga Asana. I supply equipment from 'Magic Circles' to 'Mini Balls' creating fun and interesting movements with some of them even mimicing reformer type movements.
The 3 hours you spend with me will consist of practice and education, this is not 3 hours of full on push exercising. We will conserve and create energy not use it all up. You will not leave exhausted - you will leave energised! 'It's a different carry' a different 'Mindset'
