Djembe Workshop with Mark Trewartha
After our first successful workshop on the 27th September we are back with another engaging workshop with guest facilitator Mark Trewartha.
The djembe is a traditional West African drum, played with the hands and often accompanied by bass drums called dunduns. Over the past 40 years, it has become popular worldwide at festivals, around campfires, and on stage with major artists.
Mark Trewartha, an experienced djembe player and teacher with 15+ years’ experience, will be leading a workshop at CellB, Blaenau Ffestiniog on Sunday 16th November, 9am–12pm.
You’ll learn traditional rhythms, calls and responses, and discover how simple beats combine to create uplifting music. Mark’s calm and humorous teaching style makes it fun and accessible for all levels – from complete beginners to experienced drummers.
Bring your own drum if you have one. Limited spares available – booking essential.
