About the event

John Noltner Residency at the DCCA
A unique opportunity! – From September 15 through September 20, DCCA will feature an internationally acclaimed “A Peace of My Mind” exhibit by photographer/journalist, author, and peace advocate, John Noltner who is originally from Beaver Dam. The photo exhibit is in collaboration with AAUW-Beaver Dam, presenter of a week-long, community-wide residency, “Belonging: Unity in Community,” by Noltner. Extended exhibit hours: Monday, Sept. 15, 10:00 AM to 7:00; Tuesday, Sept. 16 – 9 AM to 6 PM; Wednesday, Sept 17 – Noon to 7:00 PM; Thursday, Sept. 18 – Noon to 8:00 PM. Friday, Sept. 19 – 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM; Saturday, Sept. 20 – 10:00 AM to 5 PM. On Thursday, 7L00 PM, Noltner will be present to give commentary.

Other events with Noltner, free and open to the public, include a Beaver Dam Chamber breakfast, Tuesday, Sept. 16, 7:30 AM, at DCCA; an introductory program by Noltner at The Watermark, Wednesday, Sept. 17, 8:30 AM; a Photo Techniques class at Art on the Town (Register at www.artonthetownwi.com), Saturday, Sept. 20, 10:00 AM; and from the Beaver Dam Community Library – a book discussion with Noltner, Thursday, Sept. 18, 10:00 AM; and a “Meet John Noltner” gathering, Saturday, Sept. 20, 1:30 PM.

Noltner will also be presenting scheduled programs at Moraine Park Technical College, Beaver Dam High School, Beaver Dam Middle School, and Wayland Academy.

Throughout the residency, Noltner will be taking portraits of local community representative and gathering their responses to the question, “What does Belonging meant to you?” Some of those will be part of Noltner’s closing keynote address at the BDACT Fine Arts Center, on Saturday, 7 PM. His program will be preceded with a public reception in the lobby at 6:00 PM.
