** Saturday night, Oct 4, is International Observe the Moon Night (IOTMN), Jubilee Park, Beaudesert. We'll have a 90% illuminated moon visible.
SRAA will set up in Jubilee Park, near the bandstand (map below) in Beaudesert for public outreach from 6.30 - 8.30pm. Visitors are welcome to join us at the park. This is always a fun evening.
This is an event when you can use a smaller scope or even tripod-mounted binos to good effect.
Please comment below or message if you are planning to come.
Here's the plan:
Enter the park at the gate in Telemon St, opposite the Ampol service station, about 80m SW of the intersection with Brisbane St, for the best parking. The closest address for your navigator is 3 Telemon St (the Ampol station).
See map below.
SRAA members arrive to set up around 5.00 - 5.30pm.
Observing from about 6.30 pm to 8.30pm, weather permitting.
