Got Buckthorn? (In-person)

Buckthorn, a highly invasive tree and shrub species, poses a significant threat to native ecosystems by crowding out indigenous plants, degrading wildlife habitat, and altering soil
chemistry. This course will also cover a range of effective removal strategies—including chemical approaches like targeted herbicide application, as well as chemical-free methods such as manual pulling, cutting, and smothering techniques. Participants will gain practical insights into choosing the appropriate removal method based on site conditions, safety considerations, and long-term habitat restoration goals.
