Yazmin & Beat Zero: Latin Jazz, Folk-Rock & Soulful Storytelling
Blending lyric-driven folk-rock with Cuban rhythms, jazz harmonies, and classical roots, Yazmin & Beat Zero bring a genre-defying sound that’s as vibrant as it is heartfelt. Fronted by powerhouse pianist and vocalist Yazmin Bowers, the group invites audiences on a journey through soul-baring songwriting, bilingual storytelling, and infectious grooves.
From blues and funk to timba, Latin jazz, and rock, their performances are rich with musical diversity and emotional depth. Yazmin’s songs explore themes like creative burnout, identity, immigration, and love—often weaving seamlessly between English and Spanish to connect across cultures and experiences. You may find yourself dancing one moment and deeply moved the next.
The band features Yazmin’s expressive keyboard work and soaring vocals, along with the virtuosic talents of Grammy-nominated bassist Álvaro Benavides and a rotating lineup of world-class musicians.
Concerts by the Lake happen every Tuesday and Thursday from June 10 through August 28, 2025, at Memorial Park, right on the shore of Lake Superior. All shows are free and open to the public.
Bring a chair or blanket and prepare for a globally inspired night of rhythm, reflection, and raw musical beauty. Leashed dogs are welcome, too!
In case of inclement weather, the concert will move to the Bayfield Lakeside Pavilion. Updates will be shared the day of the show on the Bayfield and the Apostle Islands Facebook page.
