Arrr ye ready fer a weekend of pirating?
The 10th Annual Pirate Day in the Bay draws families, friends, and of course...pirates from near and far! The event has been recognized as a Top 20 event by the Southeast Tourism Society and has received recognition from Mississippi Magazine, including the "M-List" and "Best of MS Travel." The Mystic Krewe of the Seahorse donates funds raised from their events to local Hancock County Charities.
The festival begins Friday, May 16th at 4PM with vendors opening and folks gathering for a whimsical skit outlining the inspiration of the Krewe. At 5PM the ever-popular Adult Pub Crawl begins with many local bars and eateries offering participants a chance to win the Treasure Hunt award basket! Return to Pirate Central at 7PM to be entertained by the rousing band, Retro!
Saturday, May 17th, 10AM-11PM is a full day of exciting activities with special performances at Pirate Central for children and adults! The children's Pirate Play Zone is open from 10AM-6PM, and the Little Buccaneers' walking parade begins at 11AM. Dane the Balloon Man will be twisting up some fun at Pirate Central for the kiddos from 10AM to Noon.
The afternoon includes a children's costume contest, an adult costume contest, bellydancers, and the Pirate Invasion golf cart parade through Old Town at 5PM.
The evening continues with merriment and live music from the popular band, The Wiseguys from 7-11PM, and a fireworks display at 9PM.
On both days, events flow from Pirate Central located at the corner of South Beach Blvd. and Court St., in Bay St. Louis, MS. Craft vendors will be open throughout the weekend.
You won't be out of place if you come dressed as a pirate!
