Bathurst – Let’s Come Together
Over the past few years, I’ve received so many messages and emails from you – my fellow Bathurst locals. Many of you have told me you feel let down, that your voices aren’t being heard.
You’ve said you voted for change in the last election, hoping for a shift in the way our council operates. There was restored hope that our local government would start listening to us.
Some have shared serious concerns about financial transparency. More recently, many have expressed frustration at the lack of opportunity for residents to have their voices heard in the chamber. That restored hope, is starting to disappear.
And honestly – this deeply upsets me.
It’s now two years since the major rally to stop the 70% rate rise outside council chambers. Since then, the cost of living has only made life harder for many of us. And with new discussions about a rate rise on the horizon, I think it’s time for us to come together – not just to raise concerns and share information, but to strengthen our sense of community and connection.
So… I’m organising a Community Town Hall & Celebration – a chance for every voice to be heard.
📅 Thursday, September 25th
📍 Bathurst RSL
🕖 Evening session – 6:30pm
🎤 I’ll be your MC for the night.
👥 You’ll hear from councillors, community leaders, local charities, and more.
🗣️You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions on the issues that matter most to you.
🎁 There’ll be prizes, special guests, and an uplifting atmosphere.
🧒 A “kids zone” will be available for parents with young children.
🥩 The bistro opens at 5:30 for an early dinner.
This isn’t just a meeting – it’s about restoring connection, hope, and trust in our beautiful city. Let’s stand together, listen to each other, and work for the Bathurst we all want to see.
If you’d like to attend, please respond to this event — and share the event far and wide!
