Join us for this retreat at the lovely Luna Center in Bath to deepen your meditation practice. Whether the world is weighing on you right now, or you just need a break from your everyday life, a retreat can help you process, settle and experience peace. Although a retreat is not necessarily easy, it can be very fulfilling.
If you have a regular meditation practice of about 30 minutes per day or more and would like to take a next step, consider coming to this retreat. You can come for only Saturday morning from 9am-1pm or stay the whole day until 6pm. We will start with a group discussion at 9am, then 3 alternating periods of 40 minutes sitting meditation and 20 minutes of mindful movement, then a silent lunch break at 1pm, then 3 more periods of meditation/movement and a closing discussion from 5-6pm. If you have a strong practice, you can follow your own rhythms of sitting and moving. Lunch will be a potluck and you will receive a potluck signup form after signing up.
This retreat will be taught non-denominationally. Kurt teaches essential techniques from various contemplative traditions with no hidden religious agenda and no intent to change your religion. The focus is on our shared human experience and welcome people of all backgrounds and beliefs supporting their practice. There are perhaps as many different ways to meditate as there are colors—we welcome them all and emphasize awareness and fellowship with a community of like-minded practitioners.
Practice takes place on mats, cushions, benches, or chairs, which are provided free of charge.
Schedule: 9am welcome & discussion then 3 hrs meditation (40 min. sit/20 min. move, etc), silent potluck lunch, then 3 hrs meditation (40 sit/20 move, etc) and finally closing discussion around 5pm ending at about 6pm.
Cost: Donation based.
