ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:
This a CPD workshop for anyone who wants to take learning outdoors - teachers, teaching assistants, trainee & qualified Forest School Leaders, Early Years Practitioners, Brownies & Cubs leaders, anyone thinking of setting up a home-education group - anyone who would like more ideas/skills and the chance to meet like-minded people. It would also suit anyone thinking about doing the forest school training who would like to learn more before committing to the course. It is a day for you in the woods where you can unwind and enjoy yourself.
ABOUT THE DAY:
During the day you will have the chance to:
*Hear about some of my experiences over the last 14 years
*Learn several songs, stories & games that you can then use yourselves - suitable for the term ahead (stories/songs will be printed for you to take home)
*Try new seasonal crafts and learn skills
*Learn about the Wheel of the Year and how to use it in your sessions/lessons
*Look at and try a variety of equipment and tools
*Look at several books about skills, crafts and storytelling
You will be able to take photos, record songs, make notes (please bring a notebook & pen), you will be given details of good websites.
CELEBRATION: This workshop will be held just a few days before the Summer Solstice, the beginning of summer, so we will mark this turning of the wheel in the Wheel of the Year and learn more about it and how it can be used in your lesson planning as well as celebrating this time of year.
