Because a Bath theatre-maker, in possession of some free time, MUST be in want of a play reading. 👒🎭
Welcome to our September social - Jane Austen's 'Pride and Prejudice'! Gear up for the Jane Austen Festival and celebrate 250 years of the author with this 2009 adaptation by Simon Reade.
'Pride & Prejudice' is the first in a programme of RTC play readings co-hosted by you! So say hallo to Andy Cork who will be taking us through the Hertfordshire countryside and the grandeur of Pemberley.
About the play:
First impressions can be tough and when Elizabeth Bennet encounters Mr Darcy for the first time it's certainly not love at first sight. But when a cacophony of sisters, meddling aunts, the most unsuitable suitors and a mother whose nerves outnumber them all throw the pair together time and time again, Darcy and Elizabeth come to realise - pride really does come before a fall!
Join us for an evening handsome enough to tempt anybody and explore this classic novel, it's nuances and it's comedy. Bring some snacks to share and pop on your best bonnet as we kick off the autumn season with style!
