Interactive Showcase

Join Fashion Museum Bath at Somer on Tuesday 15th July for an interactive showcase, demonstrating different methods of creating innovative digital versions of objects from the museum’s Dress of the Year collection, and how these can increase access to the museum’s collection.

We’ll be joined by Gabrielle Shiner-Hill, a MyWorld Watershed Fellow at Bath Spa University who has been collaborating with us to explore how technology can offer new ways to access our Fashion Collection, and Martin Parsons, the Creative Lead at the University of Bath’s CAMERA facility, who has been collaborating with Gabby to explore the challenge of accurately representing clothing on digital avatars.

You can drop in between 11-2 to learn more about the techniques we’ve used so far, see the outcomes, and have a go at scanning to create a 3D model yourself. We’ll also have some information about the early plans for the new Fashion Museum!
