First Friday Fans!

Stay cool and stylish at the museum by making a personalized fan!

The Bastrop County Historical Society invites you to cool off and get creative at First Friday with a special activity—“Made in the Shade” fan-making at the Bastrop Museum & Visitor Center!
Visitors of all ages are welcome to drop by and design their own hand fan inspired by historical styles on display in a pop-up exhibit called “Fanned in Love.” Whether you're channeling Victorian elegance or getting your boots on the ground, this fun, hands-on activity is the perfect way to stay cool while celebrating Bastrop’s past.

As part of our community outreach, the museum will offer this activity free of charge during downtown Bastrop’s First Friday celebration. Stop in, make a fan, find out more about the museum, and enjoy a little history made by hand.
