135 North Maple Avenue, Basking Ridge, United States
We’re proud to once again participate in Somerset County’s Weekend Journey Through the Past—now celebrating its 20th year! This beloved annual event invites visitors of all ages to explore the rich history of our region by touring 34 historic sites across the county, all open specially for this weekend of discovery.
Join us at the Ross Farm in Basking Ridge as we open our doors and share the stories that make this place so special. Located on land once owned by Elias Boudinot—President of the Continental Congress and a key figure in our nation’s founding—the Ross Farm offers a glimpse into Revolutionary-era life alongside the legacy of the Ross family, the property’s most recent residents.
Activities include live music, a 15-minute play about Elias Boudinot, lectures on the history of the Old Oak Tree in Basking Ridge, site tours, scavenger hunts, kite flying, and opportunities to learn about the evolution of this beautiful property—from its 18th-century roots to its role today as a hub for music, history, and giving.
We love being part of this county-wide celebration of history and look forward to welcoming you to the Ross Farm during this milestone Journey Through the Past! No tickets or registrations are required for this free event - drop in anytime!
