Join a sunset bat walk with Ewhurst Park rangers to learn about our UK resident bats, and maybe catch a glimpse of the rare Barbastelle!
Explore nature at night and discover the fascinating habits of the world’s only flying mammal on our seasonal Bat Walks.
Our knowledgeable rangers will guide you along field margins and through ancient woodlands to bat hotspots where you'll have the chance to see these amazing creatures for yourself.
Ewhurst Park is home to at least 9 of the UK's 18 bat species, including the rare Barbastelle.
We’ll show you how to visualise and identify bat calls using the latest detectors and will point out bat behaviour as they flit through the sky or skim over the water.
As night falls, you’ll be treated to an experience like no other being immersed in nature as some creatures fall asleep and others awaken. As well as bats, you might be lucky enough to hear owls or deer, perhaps see a badger snuffling or even hear a beaver gnawing on a tree trunk.
Ewhurst Park is a magical place at nighttime with many wonderful opportunities for spotting bats. We look forward to sharing this not-to-be-missed experience with you!
